Microtech Metalmark

If you’ve spent any time at all on this blog, then you know that we like the Microtech Tachyon II, and with good reason; it’s one of the most popular butterfly knives out there.  The Tachyon II definitely deserves the attention it gets, but Microtech has another pretty amazing butterfly out there—the Metalmark.

From what I’ve heard, when this knife first came out, a lot of people were skeptical about its asymmetrical shape. Maybe you’re thinking along those same lines too, but hold off on that, because trust me—you don’t want to knock this knife till you try it.

Even though this butterfly has an asymmetrical construction, which contrasts with most butterflies out there, it flips extremely well. The action on the Metalmark is really fluid, and the handles are designed such that they are extremely ergonomic. This knife also features a Torx pivot screw adjustment and a spring-loaded latch that makes opening really easy. Also, despite its appearance, the Metalmark isn’t handle-heavy; it is actually very well balanced.

The Metalmark is available with a few different blade finishes and handle colors, so take a look below for a few more we offer:
