This is the second in a series of knife infographics that will give you the knowledge you need when you’re buying a knife.
Blade Shapes
Welcome to part two of Blade HQ’s knife infographic series! (If you missed part 1 on knife anatomy, check it out!) While this infographic doesn’t include every blade shape ever made, we tried to at least cover the blade shapes you’re most likely to see. We hope you enjoy it!

Coming up Next
We are planning to focus on different grinds, locking mechanisms, and edge styles for part three of this series. We are also hoping to include different steel types in part three, but it may be added on separately—I know I don’t need to tell you how big of a task researching steels will be. If there’s anything else you think would be good to add on to this series, let us know and we’ll see what we can do.
Finally, I just wanted to give a shout out to our graphic designer, Brock—this infographic series was his idea, and he did all the design work for everything you’ve seen and will see in this series. If you like his work, feel free to leave a comment to let him know because it’s always good to hear when your work is appreciated.
Have an awesome weekend!
Great series, this is great for people just getting into knives. Especially when you mention a style of blade to someone who is new to knives and they have no idea what you are talking about. Great graphics, you guys always have a nice presentation.
These infographics are really awesome! I love them. Any plans to make them into posters or suchlike?
I can’t think of a better way to portray this information than with an infographic. Thanks for making this info so easy to take in!
These are sleek! You really know how to do some great design work. Wondering if this would be photoshop or illustrator. Nice work, I might distribute these on my site, with credits of course!
Thanks, Caleb! I’ll pass your compliments along. Thanks for stopping by!
Daniel,
Thanks for your kind words! We don’t have any immediate plans to print out the infographics in any form, but I will let you know if that changes. I think it’s a great idea.
Thanks, Drew! We couldn’t think of a better way to share this information either. Glad you are enjoying the series!
Ryan,
I will pass the compliments along to Brock- he really does do awesome work! I asked, and Brock does the design work for this series in Illustrator.
