New Rechargeable Flashlights

Happy New Year! I hope it was great and that this holiday season was good to you!

I thought we’d start the new year off with some awesome new product from Olight! All of the Olight flashlights in this post have only been around at Blade HQ for a month or two, so you may not have seen them yet. They’re all rechargeable flashlights, which is super awesome. Let’s take a look at some of these new models.

Olight i7R-Ti Rechargeable Flashlight Cree XP-G2 LED

You’re bound to be familiar with rechargeable flashlight batteries already, but have you ever seen a rechargeable flashlight before? Maybe I’m in the minority, but I have never actually seen a rechargeable flashlight before I discovered these. I mean, sure, I’ve seen lots of other rechargeable electronics—iPods, phones, etc.—but never rechargeable flashlights. Although I’ve never tried out a rechargeable flashlight, I’m already a fan. I mean, any chance to not have to buy batteries is a win in my book!

As you can see in the picture above, this flashlight comes with a charging dock to charge the LED on. It also comes with a 10440 battery, so you won’t have to worry about tracking down the right battery. This is a pretty small light, so it’s perfect for everyday carry. It totals 2.68 inches in length and weighs just 0.85 ounces. It also has 2 output modes: high (120 lumens) and low (1 lumen). This LED can run for 17 hours on low or 25 minutes on high before needing to be charged again.

Olight H35 Wave Rechargeable Headlamp Cree XM-L2 LED

This is one of my favorite new, rechargeable items, so I had to show it to you guys. Recharging works a little differently with this headlamp than with the LED you see above; it actually comes with a rechargeable battery pack that can also be used to charge mobile devices, which can be a huge convenience. This headlamp has three output modes: high (1500 lumens), medium (550 lumens), and low (150 lumens). The headlamp can run for 24 hours on the low setting. Not too shabby, if you ask me.

Olight S20R Baton Rechargeable Flashlight Cree

This rechargeable model is very similar to another model that’s very popular among Blade HQ employees. It has quite a few neat features, but one of my favorites is its magnetic tailcap. That means you can use the flashlight with no hands in the right environment. It also has five output modes: high (550 lumens), medium (120 lumens), low (5 lumens), lower (1 lumen), and strobe. This S20 version is 4.27 inches long, but there is also an Olight S30R rechargeable version (4.69 inches long) and an Olight S15R rechargeable version (3.60 inches long) that are very similar to the S20 in terms of features. These models actually are each powered by a single AA battery, so they don’t have charging docks.

This is just a sampling of some of the new flashlights over at Blade HQ. I highly recommend browsing through the Olight flashlight section to see what else is new, and also the LED flashlight section in general, because there is a ton over there to look at.

What’s your opinion on rechargeable flashlights? Yay or nay?
