Everybody needs a cool butterfly! I did some digging around, and I found that these butterfly knives are some of our most popular at Blade HQ. All of the knives are great options if you are just starting to flip.
Just a couple of quick things; if you are planning on upgrading to a more expensive butterfly knife in the future, it can be beneficial to pick a butterfly that will be around the same weight. For example, if you know you want a Kimura VII someday, and you know it weighs 5.4 oz., it can be beneficial to choose a budget butterfly that is around the same weight so you can start getting used to it.
Also, we recommend using this on butterfly knives that have a screw construction to help keep the screws from falling out.
Take a look at these popular butterfly knives:
Revolt Spear Butterfly
This butterfly weighs 4.75 oz. and it features two tang pins so that the handles don’t hit each other, the knife has tighter lock-up, and the wear on the knife is reduced.
Stealth V2 Butterfly
The Stealth V2 weighs 3.27 oz. and features a 440 stainless steel blade.
Silver Twist II
The Silver Twist weighs 5.2 oz., which puts this knife in the same weight category as the Kimuras. If you don’t want to practice with you Kimura, this is a great alternative. This knife has a screw construction, two tang pins, and it comes with a pouch for storage.
Silver Flick Butterfly
This is another lightweight butterfly. It weighs 3.4 oz. and has pin construction.
Jaguar Butterfly
The Jaguar weighs 6.68 oz., so this a heavier butterfly. It has a 440 stainless steel blade and thick handles for a good grip.
Black Scoundrel Butterfly
The Black Scoundrel weighs 5.0 oz., and it comes with a pouch to store the knife in. It also has a pin construction and a tang pin to keep the handles from hitting each other.
Do you own any of these knives?
