Carjacker’s Knife in “The Amazing Spider-man”

About a week or so ago, I decided to go see The Amazing Spider-man. While watching the movie and hearing things about it, it seemed that a lot of people’s favorite part was the carjacker scene. During the scene, I saw the bad guy’s knife and decided I would like to know what kind of knife he was using. By looking at pictures from that scene, it looks like it has a serrated edge with a pretty unique blade shape.
It is fairly hard to tell that the knife is a combo edge, but if you focus hard enough you can see some pretty unique serrations. You will also see that the knife almost has a drop point look to it. Now, when I first saw the movie, it looked like it was definitely a bowie style knife. After seeing this picture, I know I was dead wrong. If you look closely at the picture you can see that the scales of the knife are gray and black.
The dead giveaway to point you in the right direction is going to be the serrations. They are extremely unique and only one company uses this type of serrations. That company is Columbia River Knife & Tool (CRKT). They don’t offer too many knives with these requirements.
If you search for it hard enough, you will find the CRKT My Tighe Spring Assisted Knife 1091.

Not only was this knife used in a popular movie, but they did a good job on choosing a knife for the movie. The My Tighe is a Brian Tighe design with his custom frame-lock and very unique blade. This knife also comes with a really good steel, but you don’t see it to much in knives it is 1.4116 stainless steel with a high satin finish. The steel has a harness rating of 55-57. When you put the price factor into this knife, it makes it much more desirable.
My friends over at Blade HQ are selling this knife for $54.95! Pick one up while you can!
