Benchmade is well seasoned when it comes to a butterfly knife; the company got its start making butterfly knives, hence the company’s butterfly logo. We’ve already touched on most of Benchmade’s butterfly knives that are still in production, but there’s still one we haven’t covered yet:
The 53 was designed by Charles Marlowe, who started making knives at age 15. It has an overall length of 7.82 inches, a blade length of 3.15-inches, and a weight of 3.5 ounces. It has a slightly different design than is typical of a Benchmade’s butterfly knife and that’s largely due to the materials used. The 53 has textured G10 handles, and it also has a D2 blade.
This knife also has a ball bearing pivot system, which offers outstanding, smooth flipping action.
